Natalie & Trevor’s Gothic Beauty at Eden Events
Natalie and Trevor’s wedding day unfolded like a scene from a classic film, illuminated by the soft glow of black candles and steeped in cinematic allure. Drawing inspiration from the White Rose character from “Alice in Wonderland,” the couple sought to evoke a captivating medieval ambiance for their January celebration.
At St. Mary Catholic Church, Natalie and Trevor exchanged vows amidst grand, cathedral-like architecture. “It reminded me so much of artist Eyvind Earle’s concept work for ‘Sleeping Beauty’ (1959),” says the bride. The setting provided an excellent backdrop for a ceremony full of majestic splendor.
After the romantic ceremony, the celebration moved to Eden Events in St. Charles. Natalie, a self-proclaimed “Maximalist DIY Bride,” worked with the venue staff to create her ideal wedding setting. Enchanted by the venue’s cascading drapery and stunning view of the Fox River, she infused the space with her own curated decor pieces and creative flair. The venue transformed into a scene reminiscent of Swan Lake.
Thoughtful nods to the couple’s moody inspirations touched every detail. Vintage Schiaparelli fonts adorned signage and stationery, while cathedral shapes echoed the architectural grandeur of the ceremony venue. Against these dark thematics, soft white accents lent an air of edgy femininity.
Reflecting on their union, Natalie fondly recalls the joy of finally being husband and wife. “Trevor and I always say that we wish we could have gotten married even sooner because the feeling is so sweet,” she says. Weaving together elements of fantasy and timeless elegance, Natalie and Trevor created a day worth its place in cinematic history.
