Max & Trevor’s Fairytale Wedding at Ivy Room
“Married in an enchanted forest” describes the dreamy feeling of walking down a winding ceremony aisle toward a green floral-defined chuppah. Maxwell (“Max”) and Trevor’s Ivy Room wedding details felt like something out of a fairytale storybook.
Being lovers of music, food, and travel, Max and Trevor spent their early relationship at concerts and restaurants all around the city. Ultimately, they got engaged on the beautiful beaches of Riviera Maya, Mexico, setting into motion the steps toward their magical wedding day.
Max and Trevor’s wedding day began with getting ready together in a room full of friends, laughter and love. The couple wanted to spend the entire day together, so their wedding morning included them helping each other button up shirts, tighten ties and adjust coats. With a rooftop “first look” overlooking all of Chicago, the morning felt equal parts intimate and full of revelry.
For their ceremony and reception, the couple created a moody and intimate setting enveloped by nature. More specifically, they envisioned a lush garden illuminated by candlelight. Upon seeing the Ivy Room for the first time, Max and Trevor knew it was the right spot for their vision. Between the ivy-covered brick walls, the cobblestone courtyard and the stunning natural wood and textures, they knew it was the perfect foundation for the wedding they dreamed of.
Surrounded by the gorgeous green ivy walls in the courtyard, guests enjoyed cocktails at twilight, nestled between iconic Chicago architecture. As they walked up the stairs and entered their candle-lit reception, green and gold details engulfed the table settings. The lush colors on the sweetheart table glistened in the candlelight and the guests greeted one another in between the tall, clear glass centerpieces.
Beyond celebrating a day full of love, the couple’s other goal for the day was to host an incredibly entertaining evening. The reception was planned with an “East Coast timeline,” meaning guests could dance between meal courses. Led by Gold Coast All Stars, the dance floor was full the entire night and the excitement in the air was palpable.
From the intimate ceremony to the never-ending dance floor, this day was undeniably unforgettable. “One of the greatest parts of being together is the endless laughter we share, and it means the world to us that we get to spread our joy with one another every day,” the couple shared. Looking back at this wedding day, it is clear that this tenet inspired their celebration and will continue to define their relationship.
