Hold My Pearls at The California Clipper; Gâteau Groovy
POV: You and your ride-or-die turn a retro nightclub into the moody, sultry micro-wedding of your dreams. Shot at The California Clipper, this styled scene features real couple Shiho and Andrew. After falling in love in Chicago, visa complications forced them into a two-year, cross-continental separation. When they finally reunited in 2024, they married at city hall — no photos, no fanfare.
Determined to bring their love story to life, Bri McCabe of Gâteau Groovy (and friend of the couple) enlisted them as models. With nods to Shiho’s Japanese heritage and the couple’s unapologetically bold spirit, this vision is part styled shoot, part real wedding and full rock’n’roll.
From the Planner…
We’re here for the midnight sushi, eating cake on the bar, taking your heels off and the whole vibe of a late-night after-party.
