Hidden Mickeys & Happily Ever After: Myriam & Ryan’s Magical Celebration
.Walt Disney once said, “There is no magic in magic, it’s all the details.” For Myriam and Ryan, that sentiment rang true throughout their Disney-inspired wedding day.
Although they attended the same high school, Myriam and Ryan didn’t truly connect until college. A chance summer party in 2016 led to coffee, Pokémon Go adventures, and the discovery of a shared love for Disney. That passion soon became the cornerstone of their relationship. So much so that they have a popular TikTok account together, @Disneyplusandchill. In addition to content creation, they’ve dedicated themselves to making other couple’s dreams come true with their own wedding planning and design company, Let’s Plan on Forever. It came as no surprise, then, when Ryan proposed in front of Cinderella’s Castle at Disney World!
When planning their wedding, the couple wanted a venue that felt timeless and enchanting. They found the perfect match in The Congress Plaza Hotel, one of Chicago’s most historic spaces. Its storied past and haunted reputation intrigued them, while the grand ballroom reminded them of Beauty and the Beast.
From there, the Disney magic continues to unfold in every detail. Guests were greeted by a welcome sign with Walt Disney’s iconic words: “To all who come to this happy place… welcome.” More details came with a Snow White “mirror, mirror on the wall” seating chart and the guestbook table featured an Up-inspired mailbox and adventure books complete with Disney stickers for guests to add their own flair. Hidden Mickeys popped up throughout the décor —from the floral arrangements to the cake, which was topped with a vintage Mickey and Minnie figurine and designed after the couple’s favorite ride, The Haunted Mansion.
As the night continued, the fairytale atmosphere grew livelier. Guests indulged in sweets reminiscent of Disney park treats and later joined in the spirited Hora Loca. Sipping espresso martinis with Mickey toppers and dancing with glowing Minnie bow headbands kept the environment live. It was the perfect finale to a day that reminded everyone in attendance of the joy of believing in magic.
From walking down the aisle to modern Disney songs (Ryan to “How Far I’ll Go” from Moana and Myriam to “What Dreams Are Made Of” from the Lizzie McGuire Movie) to hidden Mickeys, this wedding was everything a Disney-loving couple could imagine. Myriam and Ryan proved what every Disney fan knows: when you “do as dreamers do,” happily ever after isn’t so hard to reach.
