This time, we spoke with Amber Showers, the Director of Events at The Carriage House at the Club at Lac La Belle — a beautifully restored event venue located on the grounds of a historic country club in Lac La Belle, Wisconsin. Just outside of Milwaukee, it offers Chicago couples the charm of a countryside escape without straying too far from the city. With its sweeping golf course views, modern-meets-classic architecture, and versatile event spaces, The Carriage House makes for an inviting backdrop on your special day.
Couples looking to host a wedding in Chicagoland have hundreds of options. What makes The Carriage House so unique?
We are a great destination venue, located away from the city and in the heart of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. We are situated on one of the oldest golf courses in Wisconsin, which was newly renovated in 2018. It has breathtaking picture options for the couple, including on the lake just a few minutes away!
What are your tips for couples who are just starting the wedding planning process, especially those who are still trying to pick a venue?

I’m Amber Showers, the Director of Events at The Club at Lac La Belle. I’ve been with Lac La Belle for five seasons, and before that, I spent about eight years as a wedding coordinator.
I truly enjoy meeting new couples and guiding them through the contract process to book their special day with us. My goal is to make this often-overwhelming part as easy as possible, ensuring their vision comes to life with full support every step of the way.
