The Sweetest Year Yet At ECBG Cake Studio
At ECBG Cake Studio, 2025 was a year of serious momentum. The team created 430 custom wedding cakes for couples across Chicago and beyond, all while optimizing business for growth and creativity. From timeless classics to modern, editorial designs, each cake reflected the personal style and vision of the couples who commissioned them.Over the course of twelve months, founder Erin Martin and Kitchen Manager Brittany Pryka led the studio through significant growth — welcoming four new team members (Courtney, Rachel, Lauren and Maribel) while maintaining the meticulous, artist-in-residence quality that makes couples fall in love with their work in the first place.
A Shoot at Gene & Georgetti
The cake studio marked the year with an editorial photoshoot at Gene & Georgetti, embracing the moody, old-school glamour of one of Chicago’s most storied steakhouses. Photographer Berlez captured moments that felt both romantic and rebellious — wedding cakes styled alongside Grace + Ivory gowns and SL Blooms florals, all bathed in that rich, amber-lit atmosphere that the restaurant does so well. The images perfectly showcase the indulgence and playfulness that have become hallmarks of ECBG’s aesthetic.
Looking Forward
ECBG Cake Studio’s calendar for 2026 is already filling up (a good sign, if ever there was one), and the studio just launch a redesigned website. Featuring better functionality for their Cake Shop offerings and a more editorial aesthetic that matches where the brand has been heading visually, the new site is exactly the refresh they needed.
