Timeless Elegance Meets Modern Glamour at Joann & Zach’s Fairlie Wedding
Choosing Chicago as their wedding destination was an easy decision for Joann and Zach. Celebrating their future in the city they moved to just eight months prior made for an unforgettable black-tie celebration in a modern setting. After an extensive venue search (23 venues!), they found their dream location at Fairlie, where soaring ceilings, a grand staircase, exposed brick, and warm lighting provided the perfect canvas for their vision of timeless elegance.
The couple’s love story began in Boston in 2019 during a Tacos ‘N Tequila bar crawl. Their connection was instant, bonded by a shared passion for food, travel, and adventure. After years of living life together in Boston and countless cherished memories they made the decision to move to Chicago.
As they arrived at Fairlie for the main event, emotions ran high. The space had been transformed into an ethereal dreamscape with a refined black-and-white palette. Lush white floral arrangements, designed with an artful and creative touch, adorned the venue. Loose greenery and baby’s breath cascaded down the grand staircase, while reception tables featured either dramatic floral centerpieces or candelabra towers with delicate bud vases below. Elegant black accents — velvet bows on place settings, black and white dinner plates, and letterpress stationery — added a sophisticated contrast.
Guest experience was at the heart of Joann and Zach’s wedding. From the moment attendees arrived, they were treated to impeccable food, handcrafted cocktails, and an electrifying atmosphere. Dinner was an immersive experience, elevated by the expert team at Viola’s Kitchen. Guests dined by candlelight as the soft glow of dusk filtered through the space, creating a warm and intimate ambiance.
Reflecting on their special day, Joann and Zach couldn’t have imagined a more perfect celebration. With their new chapter in Chicago officially underway, their wedding was the perfect way to kick off a lifetime of adventure together.
