Local Love – Khadija & Eabad at Drury Lane

Khadija and Eabad, initially connected through mutual friends, went from text messages and Facebook interactions to full-blown couple once Eabad flew to Indianapolis for a face-to-face hangout. They complemented each other well and strove to be what the other person needed every day. Eabad was a strong support for Khadija while in medical school, always ready to help out by making sure she had meals and coffee to get through her taxing days. His kindness, patience, and love really showed Khadija that they had something special.

Growing up, Khadija always knew she wanted to get married in her hometown of Chicago. A self-described “chill bride,” Khadija woke up ready to enjoy her wedding day to the fullest. After a fun breakfast with family staying at her home for the wedding she was off for hair and makeup before meeting up with Eabad for their first look. Once ready to walk down the aisle, Khadija was thankful for her mom, sister, and cousins close by her side to help her stay calm when the nerves hit. Despite her apprehension at having everyone’s gaze on her, she locked eyes with her groom at the end of the aisle and never looked back.

The couple thoroughly enjoyed the dance performances put on by their friends and family. Eabad’s favorite memory was of their Mehndi  (henna ceremony) day, especially the dances performed by his in-laws. Thinking back on her big entrance, Khadija recalled, “As soon as I met his eyes, any little noise around me was blocked out. I don’t remember seeing anyone else when I walked in.” They both enjoyed the incredible cake (from Carlo’s Bakery of Cake Boss fame!) and taking photos with their photographer, Saad, who kept things fun and natural. While the wedding festivities went by in a blur, Khadija and Eabad focused on each other and the love they share throughout it all.
