Local Love – Gia & Matt at Victoria in the Park
Matt and Gia met at their former workplace and discovered they had so much more than a shared job in common. They both enjoyed traveling, going to the same concerts, and watching the same movies. Gia knew she had found someone special when Matt wasn’t intimidated by her boisterous Italian family. “I thought he was going to be very intimated by them, but instead he enjoys sitting back and watching them argue, laugh and enjoy themselves,” Gia told us. They both grew up in the Chicago area, so when it came time to plan their nuptials, the city was a natural choice.
Gia’s brother, Anthony, worked as the couple’s wedding planner to expertly bring their wedding dreams to life. He also served as the officiant for the wedding and had everyone laughing and crying with his sweet words. After they shared their personalized vows, everyone headed to the reception to enjoy the delicious food and dance the night away. Gia’s dad, the Maid of Honor, and the Best Man gave special, heartwarming toasts that the couple truly cherished. The biggest hit of the night was easily the giant, mouth-watering doughnut wall Matt had built himself.
Matt said his favorite memory was watching Gia walk down the aisle. Gia really loved trying to cut their cake: “Our day of coordinator told us what to do and we couldn’t figure it out. My uncle had to come and help us!” Another highlight of the night was the couple’s photographer, Ingrid, who made them feel like local celebrities and made sure they got every photo they wanted. Though they were sad to stop dancing when the lights came on at the end of the night, Matt and Gia could not have asked for a more perfect wedding day!
