Juan & Glenn’s Vibrant Mexican-American Wedding
While Juan and Glenn’s relationship began in Chicago, their love story has since taken them to live in Minneapolis. Recognizing the need for assistance in bringing their unique vision to life from afar, they turned to the expertise of Details Chicago. Together, they orchestrated a vibrant September celebration, marking the end of summer and the start of their marriage.
On the morning of their wedding, the grooms and their entourage were pampered with hair, makeup and a breakfast spread at The Hoxton. Armed with disposable cameras to capture every candid moment, the grooms and wedding party took off to Garfield Park Conservatory for photos and pre- celebrations.
Juan and Glenn exchanged vows against the backdrop of hand-dyed tapestries and vibrant floral arrangements. The couple chose a warm color palette and incorporated details honoring their Mexican and Midwestern families. This included a mariachi band to perform while they walked down the aisle, a bilingual officiant to tell their love story and dancing the Baile Vals del Billete and La Vibora de la Mar during the reception.
The grooms showcased outfit changes for their City View Loft reception, donning pieces handmade in Juan’s home state of Aguascalientes, Mexico. While their dog, Otis, couldn’t join the festivities, he was featured in many details — cake topper figurines of the three of them, his portrait on napkins and a signature cocktail named in his honor (the “Otis Paloma”).
Juan and Glenn described the night as a blur filled with lots of laughter. As the last notes of music faded away, Juan and Glenn stood together, surrounded by the warmth of their loved ones and the joy of a Chicago celebration.
