Brigitta & Deaton’s Backyard Fairytale
Brigitta had a clear vision for her dream, backyard fairytale wedding. She wanted to transport her guests into a realm of enchantment and celebrate the love she shared with her prince charming, Deaton. Brigitta and Deaton created a sacred, intimate space where their love took center stage, making guests feel like they had entered a mystical fairytale.
With this vision in mind, finding the perfect venue was no simple task. After all, the couple met in Costa Rica, grew up in different parts of the country, dated long-distance and filled their relationship with global travels. How could they narrow in their global influences to just one locale? While they considered marrying in Costa Rica, Colorado, North Carolina or the upper peninsula of Michigan, they ultimately realized that what mattered most was having their closest friends and family by their side. So, they made the decision to exchange their vows in an intimate backyard setting in Brigitta’s hometown, West Chicago.
On a beautifully gray and hazy September day, the couple’s dreamy celebration unfolded. Against a backdrop of lush greenery, all-white flowers adorned the landscape to create a mystical and enchanting forest. Additionally, lanterns and twinkling lights hung from tree to tree, casting a warm and reflective glow on the atmosphere.
With a guest list of 104 loved ones, the wedding felt intimate and cozy. Two long banquet tables brought everyone together in the backyard, fostering a sense of togetherness and family. Brigitta and Deaton added a personal touch by choosing their favorite local Greek eatery, Ambrosia Greek Eatery, to cater the meal. It was a tribute to their countless visits to the restaurant, where they would bid farewell during frequent airport drop-offs. The catering choice was not only delicious, but also symbolized the end of their dating life and the beginning of a new chapter together.
