Ashley & Kevin’s Elegance at The Peninsula

With help from the hotel’s staff and backed by a Taylor Swift soundtrack, Kevin proposed to Ashley on the terrace of The Peninsula Chicago. “You’re so gorgeous,” crooned the Taylor Swift song as Kevin dropped to one knee and presented Ashley with a dazzling ring and The Big Question. And thus, the hotel began its place in their marriage story.

Since childhood, The Peninsula Chicago has hosted many precious memories for Ashley and her family. The incredible service, beautiful spaces, attention to detail and Asian influence of The Peninsula drew the couple to the venue, and the proposal there made it even more of a perfect wedding venue.

As children of immigrant parents and immensely grateful for their sacrifices, Ashley and Kevin wanted to celebrate their cultures. “We wanted to make sure that beyond celebrating our life together and love for each other, that the joining of our families was a central theme of our wedding,” the couple shared. The result was a classic and timeless event, with pastel pinks, flowing champagne and a luxurious menu.

Carrying on with a traditional- meets-contemporary vision, Ashley wore an elegant gown and veil by designer Mira Zwillinger from Ultimate Bride. According to the designer, Ashley was the first-ever real bride to wear this “Limka” gown.

Surrounded by family and loved ones, the couple emotionally exchanged vows. “I simply couldn’t keep it together realizing that I’d somehow gotten this beautiful, incredible woman to promise to spend the rest of her life with me,” says the groom. Does it get more romantic than that?
