An Arab-Somali Wedding for Danya and Radwan
Since their first date, Danya and Radwan have been constants in each other’s lives. They share everything with each other, from Danya’s tales of her high school students’ shenanigans to Radwan’s cheering on his favorite soccer team, Arsenal FC. So after being together for over a year, the two celebrated their love with a beautiful wedding.

The wedding festivities began at Danya’s home in the south Chicago suburbs, where the bride got ready, and the Chicago wedding photographer team, Maha Studios, captured her wedding details, wedding dress and final makeup touches.

Wanting some classic Chicago portraits, the couple’s first look and photo session took place at the University of Chicago’s campus. Against stunning historic architecture, Danya and Radwan celebrated the first movement of their wedding day together, bathed in natural light and romantic poses.

Danya and Radwan had their Muslim marriage ceremony a few months prior to their reception, so this day was all about the celebration. For their reception, the couple chose Skyline Loft at Bridgeport Arts Center as their venue. With its original rustic brick walls, soaring beamed ceilings and industrial chic vibe, the Skyline Loft has unparalleled character. Being the art-savvy couple that they are, Danya and Radwan loved the venue’s history and artistic charm.

Once guests were seated beneath the venue’s signature chandelier globes, Danya and Radwan entered separately with their parents. Each walked into cultural music respective of their heritage, setting the scene for a vibrant celebration. They then exchanged rings and kicked off the evening of celebration with a first dance.

The remainder of the night was spent dancing to cultural music and savoring delicious food. The couple is united not only by their love for each other but also by their shared love of food. They joke that the foundation of their relationship is built on a mountain of beef brisket smothered in spicy sauce. To ensure that their guests were treated to incredible cuisine, they hired Cocina Fusion as their caterer. The churro cart was a particular hit with the attendees, who relished its unique and delicious offerings.
