Local Love – Elizabeth & Tony at Volo Restaurant Wine Bar

Elizabeth and Tony both almost skipped their first date, thanks to the frigid “Chiberia” winter and sub-zero temperatures. Luckily, they both felt compelled to make it out despite the weather. They soon realized they were, as Liz describes “the same brand of crazy” and shared a deep connection.

The couple originally planned a destination wedding in St. Martin, but their venue was destroyed by Hurricane Irma. They regrouped and decided to plan a hometown wedding at Volo Restaurant Wine Bar, which turned out perfectly. Elizabeth got ready for the Big Day with her best friends and family in the wine cellar on location. She and Tony exchanged vows in a deeply meaningful ceremony that combined their Jewish and Buddhist faiths. Their guests witnessed their marriage in the outdoor garden area, complete with lush florals and paper lanterns. Elizabeth and Tony added some brightly colored flowers for a vibrant touch.

After the ceremony, the pair celebrated with their closest friends and family. They shared plenty of wine, buffet-style tapas, delectable sweets, and endless dancing. The couple asked guests to send in their favorite song along with their RSVPs which made for a truly personalized playlist throughout the night. The personal touches were extended throughout the entire wedding as well, thanks to vendors who were also personal friends and acquaintances. The celebration was relaxed, with no assigned seating or formal dinner, so guests were free to mix and mingle. The atmosphere was a perfect complement to Elizabeth and Tony’s laidback personalities. When reflecting on their wedding day, Elizabeth noted, “Having all the people I love together in such a beautiful place, and seeing them enjoy themselves meant a lot to me.” Guests agreed, finding the wedding unique and easy— exactly the vibe the newlyweds were after.
