Azal & Kashaan’s Glamorous Pakastani Wedding at the Field Museum
Coming from Pakistani backgrounds, Azal and Kashaan grew up with the same core priorities: family, hospitality and staying connected to where they came from. That shared foundation shaped their wedding weekend, comprising three separate events.
“We wanted each event to feel like a warm welcome into our world as a couple,” Azal said. The weekend began with an intimate lakeside Nikah and brunch at the Chicago Yacht Club. Changing pace, on Friday evening, guests gathered at Embassy Suites Naperville for a vibrant Mehndi, transporting guests from Naperville to a full festival in the heart of their motherland.
The weekend closed with their grand reception at the iconic Field Museum, a place that has always been part of their lives. They go with out-of-town family. They go just because. Kashaan has a deep appreciation for history and museums, and for both of them, the building carries real meaning. “There is something profoundly beautiful about walking through corridors filled with the stories of civilizations around the world,” they said, “knowing that our own little place in history will forever be connected to that museum as well.”
Their decor centered on honoring their Pakistani heritage while keeping the atmosphere modern and immersive. Floral installations in soft pastels and rich reds played against refractory crystal, the two aesthetics reflecting the couple’s individual styles. Cultural details were quietly threaded throughout, and the hall’s grand architecture absorbed it all without competing. The building had seen centuries of history. Saturday night, it got one more story.
