This Kentucky couple opted for a traditional southern wedding at The Magnolia Plantations & Gardens in Charleston, SC. Mismatched bridesmaid dresses, delicate gold details and traditional china add an elegant touch to the garden-inspired theme!
“Our venue in Charleston, SC, was the perfect location for a traditional Southern wedding! The Magnolia Plantation and Gardens was founded in the 1600’s and is considered one of America’s last large scale romantic gardens. Our ceremony took place on the banks of the Ashley River under giant oak trees which were overflowing with Spanish moss. The gardens and giant live oaks perfectly highlighted the natural beauty of the South and made our wedding day so special! We were also so happy to be surrounded by our family on our special day. Growing up in Kentucky, family is so important and special to us and it wouldn’t be a true “Southern” wedding without the support and help of our family!
“Our vision for our wedding day was inspired by the natural beauty of the Magnolia Plantation. The plantation and gardens are very traditionally Southern and I based our wedding around this. I wanted the wedding to be garden-inspired and elegant so neutrals such as blush and cream were perfect for my theme. I also fell in love with mismatched, neutral, embellished bridesmaid dresses so we added elements of gold and champagne! Our florist, Lori Denicole, went above and beyond with our florals, which included beautiful eucalyptus on our arbor, and long, bloom-filled garlands on our guest tables. The greenery perfectly accented our venue and the natural beauty of Charleston!” -The Newlyweds
