Gilded Romance (And a Huge Cake!) for Alisa & Dino at The Peninsula Chicago
A luminous celebration dressed in decadent gold and glowing with timeless elegance, Alisa and Dino’s summer wedding at The Peninsula Chicago was nothing short of spectacular.
The couple’s celebration began at Old St. Patrick’s Church, a landmark that stands reverent amid Chicago’s landscape. Framed by stained glass windows, the historic cathedral provided the perfect backdrop for a ceremony filled with awe and joy.
For their reception, Alisa and Dino enlisted Yanni Design Studio to reimagine The Peninsula’s stately Grand Ballroom into a luminous dreamscape. Varying crystal candelabras and arrangements of white orchids and roses created dramatic centerpieces, each table its own masterpiece. Hundreds of candles in varying sizes lined the tables and floor, their glow reflecting off the mirrored tables and creating an intimate ambiance for the black-tie celebration.
The crown jewel of the evening was a magnificent nine-tier cake by Delish Cakes, adorned with cascading white florals that echoed the bride’s bouquet. In front of the grand cake, the beaming couple raised their champagne glasses in celebration before guests enjoyed a slice and danced the night away to live music by BeatMix Music’s Time Chicago band.
The evening concluded with another delicious twist on tradition: fresh cannoli from Carrello di Cannoli, served right on the dance floor. Reflecting on the day, Alisa shared “The energy and love in the room was something I will truly never forget. It felt like one big Italian family gathering — happy, passionate and loud in the best way.”
