A Classic Lincolnshire Marriott Resort Wedding for Elise & Nick
Some love stories unfold slowly, with years of familiarity and shared history paving the way. For Elise and Nick, their’s began in high school. In 2010, they even were each other’s homecoming dates, the classic football player and cheerleader duo. But it wasn’t until they left town for college that their relationship truly began. They reconnected at a party, and the next thing they knew, Nick was visiting Elise at college every other week.
About five years later, Nick set the stage for a fairytale proposal. Or, as Elise described, “a scene straight out of The Bachelor.” During a trip to Mexico, he planned a private dinner, creating the perfect setting to ask Elise to marry him. Against a Riviera Maya backdrop, she said yes.
Their wedding day itself reflected that same sense of timeless romance. The celebration began with a traditional ceremony at The Divine Mercy Parish of Sacred Heart Church in Winnetka. The church’s vaulted ceilings, arched alcoves and soft white walls created an atmosphere both simple and grand, allowing the couple’s vows to feel intimate. On either side of the couple, the bridesmaids in black satin gowns and groomsmen in classic black tuxedos brought a sense of old-world sophistication to the ceremony.
For the reception, Elise and Nick knew they wanted their celebration to feel both elegant and effortlessly classic. The Grand Marquee ballroom at Lincolnshire Marriott Resort provided the perfect setting, with its sweeping floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the resort’s 175-acre property. The couple transformed the space with thoughtful, timeless details. At its heart was a black-and-white checkered dance floor, which became the evening’s lively focal point. White roses and baby’s breath arrangements lent an airy beauty, while candlelight softened the grand space with a romantic glow.
Framed by tradition and polished with modern elegance, Elise and Nick’s wedding day became the perfect chapter in a story years in the making. Just as their relationship grew from high school friends into lifelong partners, their celebration was classic, enduring and built to last.
