Pizza, Pups and Romance: Elise and Joshua’s Wedding at Oak Hill Farm
Just outside Galena, Illinois, Elise and Joshua tied the knot at the idyllic Oak Hill Farm — a private, family-owned property complete with rolling pastures, a charming chapel and even barn animals grazing nearby. Known for its serenity and variety of natural backdrops, Oak Hill Farm was the perfect canvas for this summer celebration.
As with any perfect day, every detail of Elise and Joshua’s wedding was intentional. Elise found her Eva Lendel gown at Bridal Boutique by New Name, a shop that donates all proceeds to help women in the Chicagoland area who have been trafficked or exploited. She wrapped her bouquet with a custom printed ribbon printed, and attached a charm in memory of her grandfather. Elise wasn’t the only one with special details in her apparel, though. Joshua honored Elise’s heritage by later changing into a traditional filipino Barong, made and gifted to the him by the bride’s aunt.
The couple made it a priority to include their dogs, Jax and Aspen, in their wedding day. Oak Hill’s pet-friendly amenities made this easy — offering a quiet, air-conditioned space just steps from the reception pavilion. As a sweet nod to their pups, guests were treated to a “doggy bag” bar of take-home treats.
While dating, getting pizza for dinner and ice cream for dessert were some of Elise and Josh’s favorite date nights. So naturally, they wanted to incorporate this favorite date-night tradition into their day. The couple chose Billy Bricks Pizza HQ to cater their dinner; with each pizza on the buffet freshly wood-fired on-site. For the late night snack and dessert, Udderly Delicious’ food truck was a sweet surprise.
As guests dined, a brief sun shower passed through — just long enough to make the golden hour glow that followed even more magical. With their dogs by their side and donkeys looking on, Elise and Joshua’s pastoral wedding was all they dreamed of.
