Alyssa & Dalton’s Classic Royal Melbourne Country Club Wedding

Filled with blue hydrangeas and a light, airy aesthetic, Alyssa and Dalton’s wedding at Royal Melbourne Country Club was a classic and timeless celebration.

Alyssa and Dalton’s first date was at Tavern on Rush, where they enjoyed bottles of wine and stayed until closing. By the end of the night, they’d already planned their second date, and from there, the rest unfolded naturally. A few years later, while vacationing in Croatia, Dalton proposed, and the wedding planning journey began.

For Alyssa — a former broadcast journalist turned public relations professional — planning the wedding was an exciting new chapter. Used to managing everything from press events to speaking engagements for clients, she approached her own big day with the same attention to detail. Only this time, the focus was entirely on her and Dalton’s vision.

With Alyssa born and raised in the Northwest Suburbs, they knew they wanted a suburban wedding venue. After visiting dozens of venues, Royal Melbourne Country Club stood out instantly. From the grand entrance and “wow-factor” to the newly renovated clubhouse, it was everything they had envisioned.

The couple embraced tradition by saving their first look for the altar. At Holy Family Catholic Church, their eyes met as Alyssa walked down the aisle. At the reception, the focus shifted from sweet sentimentally to joy and celebration. The Blue Water Kings Band kept the dance floor packed (including the priest!) from the very first song. A hand-dipped ice cream cart and photo booth added playful touches, while the veranda provided a perfect spot to mingle under string lights on the warm September evening. To close out the night, guests were treated to a nod to Alyssa and Dalton’s city beginnings with a “Chicago Street Food” late-night snack featuring hot dogs and Italian beef.

From start to finish, the couple kept their priorities simple: good food and a great party. Their September wedding delivered both in spades — an unforgettable day filled with elegance, and energy.
