I’m Johanna, the Director of Marketing and Events at Ravisloe. Joining me in ensuring that your special day goes smoothly are event managers Carmen and Liz.
Carmen’s journey with Ravisloe began over 10 years ago as a server with events catering. In 2022, she embraced a new role as an event manager. In addition to her work at Ravisloe, Carmen is a dedicated full-time school counselor in Lansing, Illinois. Her background and training enable her to lead her team with patience and consistency, while also remaining flexible and open-minded in the face of last-minute changes or unexpected situations. Carmen takes great joy in getting to know the couple and their families personally, allowing her to create a truly memorable and special day for everyone involved.

Liz has been a valuable member of Ravisloe’s team since the summer of 2022, serving as an event manager. In addition to her role at Ravisloe, Liz holds a master’s degree in Educational Leadership and currently works as a math specialist in Flossmoor. Living in Homewood, Liz and her family are dedicated supporters of small businesses. With a passion for event planning and a commitment to customer satisfaction, Liz takes great pleasure in assisting and orchestrating memorable experiences for our guests. Her attention to detail and dedication to excellence ensures that every event at Ravisloe exceeds expectations.

At Ravisloe, we believe in empowering couples to tailor their wedding day exactly to their desires through our a la carte services. Rather than restricting choices to preset packages, we offer the flexibility for couples to curate every aspect of their celebration. From incorporating cherished pets into the ceremony and custom timelines, to our executive chef Yanira crafting custom menu selections, we collaborate closely with couples throughout the planning journey, accommodating their unique visions within reason. Your wedding day should reflect your individuality, and our commitment is to make every detail as personalized and meaningful as possible.

Due to increasing popularity and demand, Ravisloe has shifted its focus away from catering to smaller events and now requires a minimum of 125 guests for bookings.

Founded in 1901, Ravisloe Country Club holds the distinction of being one of the earliest country clubs established in the Chicagoland area. Its iconic Spanish mission-style clubhouse, which replaced the original structure destroyed by fire, was inaugurated in 1917. Throughout its history, Ravisloe has served as the premier social destination for Chicago’s elite, hosting countless elegant and elaborate parties that have left an indelible mark on the city’s social scene. In recognition of its historical significance, Ravisloe was honored with National Landmark status in 2021, solidifying its place as a cherished institution in American history.

In 2009, Dr. Gendreau acquired the property with the intention of preserving it from developers and making it accessible to all. Believing that such a special place should not be limited to the privileged few, Dr. Gendreau made Ravisloe a public venue for all to enjoy. Each year he continues to make improvements to the clubhouse.

For couples eyeing a wedding at Ravisloe Country Club, particularly on a coveted Saturday, I highly recommend securing your date at least a year in advance. Demand for these prime slots grows annually, with bookings accelerating earlier than ever. However, if you’re open to a Friday or Sunday celebration, I’d advise aiming for securing your date at least 9 months ahead to ensure availability.

I’ve been particularly drawn to several wedding trends lately. One of my favorites is using neutral-textured linen paired with larger, more vibrant floral arrangements. This combination adds a dynamic yet elegant touch to any wedding decor. Additionally, drone photography has been making waves, capturing breathtaking aerial shots that truly elevate the visual storytelling of weddings. It’s fascinating to see how these trends are reshaping the landscape of wedding aesthetics and creating unforgettable moments for couples and guests alike.
