Local Love – Christine & Ken at Barrington’s White House
Christine and Ken swiped right on Tinder and never looked back. Ken said he knew Christine was the one for him because, “She was a challenge for me and liked sports as much as me.” In Ken, Christine found someone who would never give up on her. When it came to planning their wedding, Chicago was a natural choice for the Chicagoland natives, who married in a ceremony at St. James Parish where Ken went to school. They dreamt of an intimate winter wedding and found their perfect unique venue at Barrington’s White House.
While the ceremony went by in a blur, Christine recalls Ken whispering, “It’s just you and me,” to her which helped her remain steady throughout the service. One of her favorite memories was seeing Ken tear up while he waited for her at the altar. After they were pronounced “Mr. and Mrs.” the pair was excited to start the party with their closest family and friends. They incorporated their love of Chicago sports with Blackhawks and Cubs jerseys for guests to sign in lieu of a traditional guest book. Family heirlooms, like Christine’s grandmother’s mink fur and her great-grandmother’s mirror displaying a welcome message to guests, helped them feel close to those who couldn’t be there to celebrate. The party lasted all night, with the DJ keeping everyone on the dance floor until the last song. When looking back at their Big Day, Christine recalled, “It was a perfect day, a new beginning with my best friend, and I wish I could relive it again in slow motion.”
