Outdoor Florida Wedding at Private Residence by Erika Delgado Photography
The intimacy of Maricel and Felipe’s wedding at the family ranch was the perfect example of rustic elegance. The shabby chic design of the decor complemented the outdoor ceremony and tent reception down to the smallest detail. The bride wore a lace trumpet-style gown by Allure Bridal. The groom’s daughter dazzled as a mini-maid of honor, and the bridesmaids attended in pale lavender gowns perfect for the setting. Guests enjoyed exquisite fare by Parties By Pat. From the appetizers passed during the cocktail hour, to the carved gourmet meats, to the s’mores and caramel apples, the food was an absolute success. A strawberry shortcake wedding cake and a naked chocolate cake with chocolate ganache topped off the experience. A rustic photo booth, dancing and laughter, and the love of family and friends was the order of the night. From the moment Maricel and Felipe laid eyes on one another, it was love at first sight . . . the start of a promise they made perfect on a wedding day fit for happily-ever-after. This beauty of an event is brought to you by South Florida wedding photographer Erika Delgado Photography!
Please give us an overview of the event.
We had our intimate backyard wedding at my husband’s family ranch in Venus, FL. The entire wedding was outdoors with a tent for the reception area.
Tell us how you met. Was it love at first sight, blind date, friends forever?
It was love at first sight! We first saw each other while waiting to be seated at a crowded Miami Beach restaurant and I was instantly attracted to him. Later that night while I was having dinner with my girlfriends he confidently approached me and asked for my number and the rest is history.
Tell us about your wedding gown and what your wedding party wore.
My wedding gown was a lace, strapless, trumpet style gown with a sweetheart neckline by Allure Bridal. My bridesmaids wore pale lavender, strapless, floor length gowns, and the groom and groomsmen wore charcoal grey tuxedos.
What was the most memorable moment?
The most memorable moment for me was right after my husband and I said our “I Dos” and we were walking back down the aisle with all our friends and family cheering. That was my favorite part because we were both so overjoyed with officially being husband and wife, and it felt incredible to be able to share that moment with the people we love.
Now for the proposal…details!
We were having a picnic on the beach when I decided to take a quick nap. He began to ask me questions about the future and when I opened my eyes he was sitting in front of me with an open jewelry box.
Was there a specific theme or style?
The wedding style was country elegance/shabby chic.
Did you DIY any of the details?
Yes, we DIYed menu board, the seating chart, as well as all the signs used for the reception and ceremony areas. We also handmade the photo booth.
Tell us about the food and desserts.
The food and dessert we’re catered by Parties By Pat. We had 6 appetizers passed around during cocktail hour with mojitos as of our signature cocktail. we had a buffet style dinner for the reception with hand carved rotisserie turkey and chicken as well as mahi mahi with a mango salsa. For dessert we had an assortment of pastries and baked goods as well as a s’mores station. We also had caramel apples as a wedding favor. Our wedding cake was a beautifully done naked strawberry shortcake and the grooms cake was a naked chocolate cake with chocolate ganache.
Splurge on…
Your food and photographer!
If there was one thing you could change, what would it be?
I wouldn’t change anything about my wedding. Even though everything did not go exactly as planned, it only made our special day that much more memorable.
