Vanessa thought she knew when, where, and what she was wearing when Maciej proposed. Out to dinner on vacation, all eyes were on the soon-to-be engaged during their champagne toast. After a few cheers and the restaurant looking on, Vanessa spotted a ring in the glass. “I am still shocked he surprised me!” the bride says. Their enchanted Chicago wedding planning began.
The Montgomery Club was the perfect venue for Vanessa & Maciej. “The Club has beautiful mosaic tile and is the perfect indoor/outdoor option for a wedding,” Vanessa says. Guests were treated to divine cuisine from Gibsons Steakhouse such as filet mignon, Chilean sea bass, or polenta cake.
Tall and low arrangements of varying heights by P3 Events surrounded The Montgomery Club in candlelight to add dimension to the room. A candle cage upon the king’s reception table was filled with hydrangeas, orchids, and floating candles.
The bride looked chic with two bouquets and two dresses. Romantic and lightweight, Vanessa’s ceremony gown was perfect for a warm September day. Her crystal and opal Hayley Paige dress for the reception took Maciej’s breath away, giving the couple two ‘first looks, lots of great photo moments, and an affair to remember.

~ Wedding cake details ~
“I love vanilla,” the bride says. “So we had one tier of our wedding cake mixed with chocolate. Both tiers also had a custard filling and the last tier was vanilla and a lemon custard filling.”

The couple gave out bottles of champagne with their name and wedding date. “I usually drink champagne, so it wasn’t a surprise to our guests,” Vanessa says.

~Advice for couples planning their wedding ~
“Some of the little extras that you put into the day of do not matter as much and guests probably won’t even realize it. I had planned other little things for at the ceremony and reception and I barely noticed them.” Vanessa says. “Good food, bar and music Is important.”
