
Real CHICago Wedding: Jaci & Sarah Accidentally in Love
Both Sarah and Jaci had an ‘out’ during their first date. Scheduling to meet early in case the date went sour, both made prior evening plans with friends. It ended up being the best and last first date of their lives. “I knew early on I wanted to make the first date spectacular because I knew I would talk about it for years to come…” Jaci says.
The couple agrees, foodies need to stick together. “I knew i was in love when she ordered bone marrow on the menu and completely schooled me on wine…” the bride says.
For their big day, Jaci and Sarah let the ambiance of The Wit do all the talking. As one of the many locations of their first date, the couple decided to keep everything simple to flow with the elegant and modern venue. The ever romantic, Jaci surprised Sarah with a with a band to play Sam Smith’s ‘Latch’ for the couple’s first dance.

As a tribute to the couple’s grandparents, six small
white roses were placed throughout the ceremony. “It was important to
keep them alive and that be the only ‘flowers’ present,” Jaci says.
Guests were treated by The Wit’s nationally known and award winning chefs with ahi tuna in mini ice cream cones, beet push pops, lobster topped with caviar on top of a truffle griddle cake and even peanut butter fudge shots.
Winter wonderland sticks in large silver vases stood tall on tables throughout the reception. “I wanted the ambiance of The Wit to speak loudly,” the bride says.
