Kristen + Alex’s Millennium Knickerbocker wedding was one for the stars in one of the craziest weather wedding days to date! The bride and groom didn’t let a little rain get in their way… their wedding photos taken by Elizabeth Greve Photography turned out gorgeous!
The couple’s day started with a gorgeous ceremony in Joliet, followed by a rainy drive to Chicago for a Great Gatsby themed wedding. Kristen + Alex have strong ties to the area, the couple met in high school in Shorewood. “Alex proposed at the same place he asked me to be his girlfriend in High School,” Kristen says.
An art deco meets old Hollywood glamour theme paired perfectly with the reception venue. The colors of black, gold, and champagne were used throughout the reception and centerpieces.
Kristen’s Jasmine Galleria wedding gown encapsulated everything she wanted in a wedding dress. “It did not take long to realize that once I put on the dress, I knew it was the one…the back truly sold me,” Kristen says.
For something a little unique, the bride, groom, and their bridal party also did a second entrance onto the dance floor after dinner before the dance floor opened to all of the guests to the song “A Little Party Never Killed Nobody” by Fergie. “It truly got all of the guests “pumped” to get on the dance floor, especially since the bridal party each grabbed a guest from their seat to come onto the dance floor!” Kristen added.
