((Ashleigh + Jeff)) created their own traditions on their wedding day. Rather than following a cookie cutter formula, the pair decided they would only observe traditions that felt right to them. Throughout the planning process, the couple worked together to split up responsibilities evenly, making sure their wedding day was a true reflection of their personalities as a couple and as individuals.
“We incorporated a swing dance as their first dance, our closest friends and family (regardless of their gender) stood by our sides, everyone in the bridal party wore a suit or dress they picked out themselves and felt comfortable in, chicken & waffles and beef brisket was served for dinner with our favorite beer (bride’s choice and groom’s choice) and delicious wedding pie. As a result, we felt comfortable and enjoyed every second of it” Ashleigh and Jeff said.
Both ((Ashleigh + Jeff)) were escorted down the aisle by both of their parents. Ashleigh walked down the aisle to the song “At Last” by Etta James, and the new bride and groom walked up the aisle together to “You Make My Dreams Come True” by Hall & Oates. After they said ‘I do,’ Jeff took Ashleigh‘s last name, rather than follow the tradition.
