A Whimsical Winter Wedding at The Estate on The Halifax in Port Orange, FL
Florida residents Stephanie and James planned their outdoor nuptials around a love for state history and their large families. The laid-back winter affair began with a ceremony on the estate house lawn at Central Florida wedding venue The Estate on the Halifax, where the two said ‘I do’ in front of 270 of their closest friends and family members. Stephanie donned a lace Enzoani gown and flower crown while clutching an arrangement of eucalyptus, peonies and lisianthus by designers at Arrangements Floral Studio. The couple invited guests to enjoy a cocktail hour with lawn games and hula hoops while snacking on southern fare favorites picnic-style before the dinner hour reception began. Upon entering the estate house reception, guests found their seats thanks to calligraphed vintage farm house windows. After finishing the scrumptious down-home barbecue supper catered by 4Rivers Smokehouse, guests enjoyed an array desserts including homemade cream wafers from the bride’s family kitchen and Dutch almond cookies baked by the groom’s grandmother. Stephanie and James celebrated by cutting into a non-traditional key lime pie before enjoying the three wedding cakes designed by Flourpress. The bride paid a tribute to the couples’ favorite pastime by dancing with her father to the famous Beach Boys tune “Surfer Girl.”
