With over 15 years of experience in the special event and wedding music business, Fretless Music, LLC is delighted to provide Chicago and surrounding areas with live music for weddings and events! We love tailoring our sets to our clients’ styles so although we already have a large variety of classical, pop, rock, jazz, and more, we do take special requests and the first one is free.
Fretless Strings provides more conventional string groups such as solo violin, violin/cello, violin/viola/cello, and 2 violins/viola/cello. Bowtime is a more unique ensemble, offering violin/marimba, violin/marimba/bass, violin/marimba/bass/guitar, and violin/marimba/bass/guitar/piano.

Creating the perfect live music experience for you is our life-long passion and we feel lucky to have been doing it together for weddings, corporate events, and more as a married couple. Here's a little more about us: Stephanie Young holds a Bachelor of Music degree from UW-Milwaukee, and did post graduate work at Alverno College. She performs regularly with Fretless Strings, Bowtime, Nine Worlds Ensemble, Animal Farm, Electric 5, and occasionally with various orchestras. She has played with such notables as the rock band Kansas, Peter Cetera from the rock group Chicago, Rod Stewart, Final Fantasy "Distant Worlds: Milwaukee" show, Doc Severinsen, Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses, and most recently at Riot Fest with That Dog. Stephanie has recorded music for Milwaukee Public Television and for composers such as Thor Bremer, Luke Wieting, and Tammy Ann Winn. Besides performing, Stephanie finds joy teaching violin, viola, and piano to students of all ages. Thor Bremer received his B.A. in music from UW-Milwaukee, where he studied classical percussion, and an M.F.A. in Game Music and Audio from ThinkSpace Education. When not performing with Nine Worlds Ensemble and Bowtime, Thor can be found playing drums and percussion with the Steve Edwards Orchestra, 1976, and Animal Farm, among others. He has written for a wide variety of ensembles and has four albums under his name and also enjoys teaching private music lessons.
