Meeting when they were just teens in high school, Tomi and Matan knew they were the perfect person for one another after many movie and coffee dates until making it “official” in November 2010. Dating through the rest of high school and college, these lovebirds didn’t waste any time and tied the knot in Chicago the summer after graduating. When asked how Tomi knew she’d found The One, she states, “I knew he was the perfect person for me because even when I am in the worst mood, he somehow finds a way to make me smile and laugh.”
Having had the worst sleep of her life the night before the big day, Tomi was restless from the amount of excitement and anticipation. Tomi wasn’t the only one who felt overwhelmingly emotions. Matan tells us his favorite part of the wedding was, “…seeing Tomi for the first time. When she tapped me on the shoulder I was so excited and could not wait to see her.” Being able to get ready the next morning in the presidential suite of the Hilton Chicago with her close family, hair dressers, and makeup artists only made those feelings intensify for Tomi. After not speaking or seeing Matan for a full week, Tomi knew the wait was worth it when seeing his reaction of her in her beautiful gown. The day was becoming more and more real.
The Jewish tradition of the Bedeken and Tisch took place during which the guests were able to attend two separate rooms to visit both the bride and groom until united. Tears were uncontrollable for Tomi once the men and band danced Matan towards her and draped her symbolic white veil over her face. A stunning ceremony was next with an unforgettable chuppah (alter) where an abundance of greenery and blue hydrangeas filled the space with their big families and close friends. With copious amounts ribs and delectable side dishes, the reception was next where the newly married couple celebrated and danced the night away with their guests.
