Jenny and Sammy’s celebration at Bottom Lounge was full of love, laughter, and edgy touches. All photos by Matthew Reeves.

Jenny, on how she and Sammy met…

“We met a nightclub in Chicago called The Evil Olive. I thought Sammy was cute, and my sister and my friend took that and ran with it.  They brought him a shot ‘from me’ and it worked! Sammy came and talked to me and we have been together ever since.”

Jenny, on how she and Sammy knew they were perfect for each other…

“We balance each other out.  We have the same sense of humor and make each other laugh constantly.  We both love live music and having fun with our friends. Sammy makes me feel like everything is going to be okay, no matter what happens. He’s my best friend!”

Jenny and Sammy, on deciding to get married in Chicago…  “We decided to get married in Chicago for a few reasons.  I [Jenny] am from Chicago – so all of my friends and family are there.  Sammy lived in Chicago for 10 years and has a huge circle of friends who are still there, and we met in Chicago!  It was the perfect place for us.”

Jenny and Sammy, on their reception…  “The ceremony was AMAZING.  Sammy’s high school friend, Nathan, officiated.  It made the whole thing so much more personal and really helped us to feel comfortable saying vows that we wrote ourselves in front of everyone.”

Jenny and Sammy, on their reception decor and special touches…  “Our décor was personal, modern vintage with some bohemian vibes.  We kept everything simple; framed photos of our adventures together over the years, candlesticks that were my great-grandmother’s, beautiful champagne roses, and romantic quotes on the walls.  Our favor was one of our favorite things – a cookie with both Sammy and my face on it!  It was the coolest.”

Sammy and Jenny, on friends, family, and their reception…
“The reception was the best time of our lives.  We had all of our friends from around the world in one room together. We had the best DJ, our friend Avi, who kept the party going all night long. What made our whole day unique was that it was all about being together with our friends and family. We wanted to spend the most time we could with them, and that’s just what we did!”

Sammy, on his favorite memories from his wedding day… My favorite memories from the day were dancing with my beautiful bride, looking out at our friends and family as we ate together for the first time as a married couple, and having one of my best friends officiate our ceremony.”

Jenny, on her favorite memories from her wedding day…  “Seeing Sammy for our 1st look photo – alone – and having just a moment to ourselves before seeing everyone else, dancing with my dad to Frank Sinatra (his favorite!), and running through the sparklers outside on the deck at midnight with the love of my life!”

Jenny and Sammy, on getting married at Bottom Lounge

Bottom Lounge was the best place for us to get married.  We got to mix music and love together with our friends and family for the ultimate wedding day. Living in Kansas City, MO, it proved difficult at times to plan a wedding in Chicago.  Without Natalie, from the Bottom Lounge and Jenny’s mom and sister, we  would have never been able to pull off such an amazing day!”
