Jenna and Brett’s gorgeous summer wedding at Lehmann Mansion was a day to remember. All photos by Roland Gozun Photography.

Jenna, on how she and Brett met…

“Brett and I went to the same high school and had some mutual friends, but really didn’t meet until we went to college. Brett was a year ahead of me in school and my first night out we were introduced. We started going on dates and spending most of our free time time together, and he quickly became my best friend and biggest supporter.”

Jenna, on how she knew Brett was the one…

“After a year of being three states away from each other and still making our relationship work, I knew he was someone I couldn’t live without. It was the hardest year, but it made moving to Ohio to be close to him that much easier. Brett asking me to marry him was the easiest question I’ve ever answered- he’s my best friend, and the love of my life!”

The Ceremony

“We got married at Brett’s hometown church. I remember seeing him standing at the altar the first time he saw me. His chin was quivering and he had tears in his eyes. It took everything I had to keep it together and not mess up my makeup. I remember my Dad walking me down the aisle telling me to slow down, but all I wanted to do was get up to the altar next to Brett.”

Jenna and Brett, on why they decided to get married in Chicago…
“It’s where our family and friends live, and where we started our relationship. When we started wedding planning,we knew we wanted to get married in Chicago.”

Jenna and Brett, cont’d…
“We walked out of the church, hand in hand, smiling ear-to-ear, with bubbles blowing in our faces. In the limo with our bridal party we popped champagne and everyone told their favorite ‘Jenna and Brett’ stories. It was such a beautiful day, perfect for having our cocktail hour outside. It was sunny and in the low 80s!”

Jenna, on choosing Lehmann Mansion

“We wanted a classic wedding with a modern twist. I wanted the day to be like a fairytale with my Cinderella wedding gown, my prince charming, and a beautiful mansion with a breathtaking landscape.”

“When we walked into the venue, it truly was magical to see all the planning come to life. The reception was definitely the best part of the night. Walking into the reception with all the beautiful lighting, gorgeous chandeliers, glowing centerpieces, and our friends and family cheering us a newlywed couple was truly amazing.”

Jenna, on her favorite moments from her wedding day…

“Seeing Brett standing at the altar with a look on his face like I was the most beautiful person he has ever seen, dancing for hours on the dance floor, and seeing the pure joy in all my guests faces especially my mom and dad throughout the night… it truly was a special day.”

“Our cake was simple, but tasted amazing. It was white cake with fresh strawberries and whip cream in the middle frosted with buttercream. It was very special because it was the same flavor at my parent’s wedding 28 years ago.”

“We love to dance and spent the entire night on the dance floor! The dance floor was always packed and even included a train all the way around the tent. We danced the night away and loved every minute of it.”
