Heather & Brandon

Brandon and Heather didn’t officially meet until later in college, but the pair first caught each other’s eye when they sat across the table from each other at a
sorority dance. “Years later, we talked about how we both had noticed one another and thought how cute the other was,” the couple laughed. After they talked for the first time at a bar, Brandon admits he kept looking for reasons to bump into her. “I couldn’t tell if she liked me or I was annoying her, always showing
up and being around,” he joked. “But I guess whatever I was doing worked – look at us now!”

The couple decided to get married at the Rookery and took full advantage of its exquisite architecture. Rather than having their décor compete with the venue’s beautiful gold and marble etchings and romantic, spiraling staircase, Brandon and Heather chose a gentle color palette with gold details that complemented The
Rookery’s elegance. Brandon and Heather said their “I dos” in a traditional reform Jewish ceremony that included an emotional speech from their rabbi and special touches like sealing a box of wine for their ten year anniversary, but the couple’s favorite memory from their wedding happened during their first look. “I heard her walking up and then all of a sudden I heard her start to run and that’s when I started to cry,” Brandon said. “It was just an incredible moment.”

At their reception, the couple and their guests danced the night away to live 90s music. Zac Brown Band covers got everyone moving, and Heather and Brandon both agreed that standing in a circle of their friends and family and watching all their loved ones sing along at the top of their lungs was the most fun they’ve ever had. “I looked around and saw just how lucky I was,” Heather said. “I’ll remember it forever.”
