My cousin Lake is about to turn two and he just a little ray of sunshine in my life. My aunt started planning his 2nd birthday party almost immediately after his first- ha! I remember last summer we were talking about ideas for his party and I suggested a puppy theme! He loves dogs and so I thought it would be the perfect theme for his 2nd birthday. Well the idea stuck and we are about a week away from this paw-ty and I have come up with some ideas that will get everyone excited and “barking” for this birthday bash!
For Lake’s party, we are going with a brown, houndstooth and little pops of blue color scheme and we used these invitations as inspiration. I love the combination of houndstooth with anything but it works so well with brown. We also used the tagline of “Come. Sit. Stay” as your traditional dog commands but made for a party. Some other cute ideas for these puppy invites are finding some cute dog stickers to seal your envelopes with. This partciular invitation is available for download on One Charming Party (via One Charming Party )
How cute is this table display? I wish we had found this puppy pinata in time for Lake’s party but you still have time to order it for your puppy party its from Shindigz Party Supply. I love the idea of finding a fire hydrant for the centerpiece as that is kind of a classic dog item! The paw-stamped table runner is a super easy DIY with just some paint and paw print stamps from the craft store. Other ideas for displaying food might be putting food out in dog bowls (not used of course!) and making bone shaped cookies! (via Jessica Kettle Photography)
It wouldn’t be a puppy party without some “pupcakes”! How cute are these puppy cupcakes? For Lake’s party we are getting a cake shaped like a dog and then cupcakes similar to these! I think they are so fun and such a cute way to carryout the puppy theme! for sure cupcakes will most definitely be a hit with the kids! (via Amy Atlas)
What better way to send your friends home than with a puppy? Set up an “adoption center” for kids to come and pick up a stuffed pup for them to take home as a party favor! As much as kids probably would love to take home real puppies, these will be just as good and a great way to remember the party! Don’t forget about your guest’s real four-legged friends, set up a “doggy bag” station with various dog treats and toys so guests can take a little treat home to their real dogs!
