Six Tips for Hosting a Stylish, Stress-Free Dinner Party
A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of meeting some local wedding and event vendors at the second annual The Not Wedding in Nashville, Tenn. I started chatting with Commerce Street Events about their recent work. While these girls pull off some gorgeous weddings around town, their entertaining expertise resonated with me the most. Their recent Sips and Supper Dinner Party was so stylish I just had to get to the bottom of how to pull it off myself.
If you’re like me, the thought of hosting a dinner party can seem a bit daunting. But the girls at Commerce Street Events helped me realize that adding simple, personal touches take you far, and it’s completely okay to ask for the right help. You want to be able to enjoy your own dinner party! Here are six easy tips (along with some stylish inspiration) for hosting a dinner party of your own.
Invite in Style
Impress your guests with a unique invitation. Our team worked with Ink Nashville to create hand delivered mason jars with fresh roses along with the invitation.
Incorporate Fresh Florals
A host can never go wrong with fresh florals! Local floral studio Oshi Flowers helped create a lovely runner for the table and made the perfect statement on the table.
Direct Your Guests
We suggest designing a seating chart, even for smaller dinner parties. This is a thoughtful way to ensure your guests will have a comfortable experience.
Set the Tone
Create a dinner party playlist to set the tone for the evening. Some of our favorite artists to include are Ed Sheeran, Ray Lamontagne, and Brandi Carlile.
Ask for Hosting Help
Instead of cooking, we suggest hiring a caterer to help relieve stress on the host. Some caterers will even wash your dishes for a mess-free evening! You want to be able to enjoy the party.
Offer Party Favors
Every guest loves to leave with a party favor; even the smallest favor will be appreciated. We gave guests make-it-yourself mojito kits, which you can find the easy how-to on our blog.
