Jennifer & John

On Cloud Nine

Few people meet their soul mates at the age of fifteen. Jennifer and John count themselves among those lucky few. The high school sweethearts remained friends as they chased separate careers. But eight years later, the pair reunited and knew that it was meant to be. On a trip to Arizona, John treated his love to a hot air balloon ride over the desert. As they soared through the clouds, John got down on his knee and asked Jennifer to marry him.

Despite the fact that John spends much of his time on the road as a professional baseball umpire, he and Jennifer were equally involved in crafting the perfect wedding. John says, “We planned and picked out so much together, but I didn’t help with her dress, hair and make-up. Wow! She looked amazing!”

The wedding was held on a beautiful fall day. Jennifer explains, “I spent the morning with my mom (my matron of honor) getting ready. It was such an honor to have my mom by my side that day, much like she has been throughout my entire life.” The groom spent the morning with his father, the best man.

“I remember the doors opening at the back of the church and seeing it filled with all the people we love the most – and my handsome groom at the very front,” remembers Jennifer. “It is a moment that will forever be etched in my heart.”

After pictures in a Rolls Royce they dubbed “Cloud 9,” the couple enjoyed a breath-taking, romantic atmosphere at their reception. Guests chose an entrée off a personalized menu, and enjoyed a delicious taco bar as a late night snack while they danced away to the music of Maggie Speaks.
