Love was Written in the Stars
Alison and Nathan met as freshmen at New Trier High School in Winnetka, where they quickly became close friends. Years later, while attending their senior prom, the couple realized they were more than friends. College kept them geographically apart, but their friendship remained intact. When Alison returned to Chicago, their relationship was renewed. “Nathan enlisted the help of Chicago Chocolate Tours to plan a private tasting tour around our neighborhood. At the final stop, he presented me with a box of truffles with the ring box hidden underneath. I, of course, said yes once I finally stopped crying.”
“Nathan and I were very excited to show off ouar favorite city – the city where we met and fell in love,” says Alison. The Adler Planetarium was chosen as the perfect venue thanks to its stunning view of the Chicago skyline. The outdoor festivities were moved inside because of heavy rainfall, but romance prevailed. “As Nathan and I were standing at the altar, the clouds parted and the most amazing sunset appeared. Everyone said it was like magic.”
The bride and groom were delighted to be joined by friends and family who had known them both since their early high school days. “They had been there for every step of our relationship, both the good and the bad. It was amazing to be surrounded by such love and support on our big day.” Alison, Nathan and their guests ended the evening with a breathtaking fireworks display from nearby Navy Pier.
