Local Love: Jessica & Salvador at Pazzo’s at 311

Sal and Jessica’s wintry wedding at Pazzo’s was a gorgeous affair from start to finish. All photos by Michelle Lytle Photography.

Sal and I met through mutual friends. I was living in New York at time, so we initially just became friends. The more we talked, the more inevitable it became that we were the perfect person for one another. Our humor, drive and how much better our lives were when we were together were all signs that pointed to this being a forever love.

Our wedding day was my favorite day ever! From the perfect pizza party rehearsal dinner at Giordano’s to our sweet, suite at the W City Center, things couldn’t have been better. We were married by Father James Roach, a very dear family friend of ours, at Our Lady of Pompeii in Little Italy. This historic, traditional Italian Catholic Church was a must on our wedding planning list. The church helped us surround ourselves with family and friends as we recited our vows and said “I do!” My mom walked me down the aisle to an emotional Sal, and everything fell completely into place.

Sal found Pazzo’s and after our first visit there, we knew it was the place for us. Los Románticos, a trio close to the Bolaños family, took the floor playing live music during our cocktail hour and they couldn’t have been any better. Love and laughter overtook Pazzo’s for the entire night. We had for an official MLB Louisville Slugger baseball bat for our guestbook, a naked winter cake, and a first dance that will never be forgotten. Sal’s sister Ale surprised us with a beautiful performance honoring their Mexican culture, and the dancing continued throughout the night. When I say there was no shortage of dancing the night away, I’m not lying!

When it comes to my favorite memories, walking down the aisle to my husband was an emotion I’ll never, ever forget. It was the walk into my future and it felt amazing. There were a few moments during church where Sal grabbed my hand,  a kiss before we walked into the reception as husband and wife, and an embrace during our first dance. Those may seem like small moments, but they were significant to me, and those small moments are embedded in my mind forever. Those were my favorite memories.”
