Brooke and Reece’s Grand Geneva Resort wedding was full of gorgeous blooms and homages to their farming roots. All photos by Matt Mason Photography.
“Reece and I began our relationship on a dating website. I knew I was going to move out west after graduation to start my career, but the distance didn’t hinder our relationship. We continued to talk every single day! Our love and interest in agriculture was what drew us together, and being able to relate to each other and share common interests was what allowed our relationship to grow.”
“The morning of our wedding began with a remarkable sunrise and was a perfect indicator of the beautiful day that was to come. My bridesmaids and I got our hair and makeup done, and I remember putting my dress on and not actually believing that I was the one getting married. It finally hit me when I put my veil on. There were so many emotions running through my mind when Reece and I saw each other for the first time. I began to think of the future and what was in store for us, and I couldn’t stop smiling- most importantly because of how handsome my farmer looked in his tux.”
“When the ceremony was about to begin, I remember hearing the beautiful sounds of the cello playing in the background. Reece and I chose to do a planting ceremony due to our agriculture backgrounds. We combined dirt from each of our hometown farms and used it to create dirt for our one plant. We wanted it to symbolize all the work that goes into marriage and every spring when the plant blooms, Reece and I will be able to reflect on our love for each other. After the planting ceremony we sealed our vows with a kiss and walk hand in hand down the aisle in front of our family and friends.”
“Reece’s favorite memory from our wedding day was seeing me in my dress for the first time. He told me that he was shocked the first time he laid eyes on me in my dress and was speechless. My favorite memory was walking down the aisle to Reece. He never took his eyes off me and it was a moment that I’ll always hold dear to my heart. Additionally, I’ll never forget the first time that we walked into the ballroom. The flowers were different shades of purples, plums, and ivory with a mixture of greens, and the chairs were a white barn wash that brightened up the room. It was absolutely beautiful and I couldn’t take the smile off my face!”
