First Look

During their visit to the Taj Mahal, Jen Urso and U-Xinn Cheang walked to a beautiful, secluded area to watch the sunrise. U-Xinn asked a passerby to take a picture of them, but as the shutter began to click, he turned to Jen and gave her a proposal unlike any other. The pair soon returned home and began planning their summer nuptials at the gorgeous, historical Armour House at Lake Forest Academy.

“The grand staircase at the Armour is quite stunning, so from the very beginning I knew that was where I wanted our first look,” says the bride. In an intimate moment, Jen descended the stairs to meet U-Xinn. “I just remember the true look of excitement and awe on his face.”

As a tribute to their families, the bride wore her grandmother’s blue star sapphire ring and the groom donned elegant Chinese cufflinks. They also honored their mothers by giving them each a rose during the ceremony.

After the big moment, the bridal party gathered for a toast. Jen says, “This was really special for us, because it was a moment to just be with the bridal party and each other for the first time as husband and wife.” During the speeches, heartfelt praise was given to the couple by all.

“I was incredibly moved when I took a step back from the dance floor and saw how much fun people were having,” explains the bride. As husband and wife, U-Xinn and Jen danced and enjoyed their wedding after so many months of planning. “I think the longest lasting memory that will stay with us is the amount of love we felt during the whole process.
