The Best Bridal Beauty Treatment You Haven’t Considered

Wedding planning can be overwhelming, but don’t let your skincare routine fall through the cracks. The experts from Lapiel Laser Center are here with everything you need to know about laser hair removal for all of our brides-to-be. Photos provided by Lapiel Laser Center.

You’re engaged! While we’re sure you’ve thought about the big things like your venue, caterers, and flowers, you may not have given too much thought to your pre-wedding skincare. If you’re ready to throw your hands up and dance the night away, the last thing you want to worry about is dealing with shaving or treating painful ingrown hairs. As we’ve learned in our 15 years in business, neglecting your skincare can be the biggest bridal “don’t” on your way to the altar. Some beauty treatments are always making the bridal to-do lists: facials, waxing, and even BOTOX have been steadily on the rise for years. Most brides don’t consider laser hair removal until it’s too late. Whether you’re planning for a strapless dress or a beachside honeymoon, laser hair removal is the best, and coolest, way to ensure you’re feeling smooth and confident on your wedding and every day.

Lapiel Laser Center is here with a helpful guide to everything you need to know about the best investment you can make before the big day!

The Basics

Laser hair removal works by targeting the hair at the root and damaging the follicle so that over time the hair stops growing. Apart from being the only permanent hair reduction method on the market, laser hair removal is also the only treatment that both prevents ingrown hairs and helps reduce the appearance of the scars left behind! What’s left is smooth, bump-free skin and all the time you never knew you were wasting in the shower. Perfect for when wedding planning has got you in a tizzy!

We’ve found that the most popular areas for our brides tend to be the underarms, any area of the face (who wants to deal with a 5 o’clock shadow on their wedding day?), and of course, the bikini line. Consider booking your first laser appointment about 10-12 months before your wedding day. Most areas require 6-8 sessions and are booked 5-6 weeks apart. What this means is that the entire process, from start to finish, can take up to a year to complete. Get ready early to show off smooth, bump-free skin in time for your wedding.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Does it hurt?

There is a bit of an “ouch factor,” similar to a rubber band being snapped against the skin. Numbing creams are definitely an option. Most treatments take anywhere from 15-30 minutes and our clients tend to opt out for smaller areas like the bikini and face.

Is it safe for all skin types?

Yes! While darker skin types do require a different kind of laser, commonly known as the Nd:YAG, it is a safe treatment for women of all skin tones. The best advice we give our brides-to-be is to do their research and make sure that their provider has experience treating their skin type.

Which areas can be treated?

Pretty much any area can be treated, with the exception of areas with white, blonde, or red hair.

How much does it cost?

The cost of the treatments varies based on the areas being treated, but you will save money in the long term compared to overall expenditures on less permanent methods of hair removal like shaving and waxing. Prices range from $59-$350 depending on the area.
