Rachel and Cody initially met through church but it was during the summer before Rachel’s freshman year at Loyola University when the pair really hit it off. “We realized that we make a great team,” the couple said. “We really balance, challenge, and encourage each other.”
Getting married in Chicago was a no-brainer for Cody and Rachel. “Chicago is the background to so many of our first memories,” they explained. “This city is where we grew together, searching for the newest restaurants and the perfect cup of coffee.” The couple tied the knot at Morgan Manufacturing in front of a large crowd of friends and family. Their talented designers transformed the warehouse into a beautifully intimate space that overflowed with candles, soft draping, and greenery. Stunning floral wreaths that hung from the ceiling gave the venue a timeless, romantic feel.
The couple agreed that their favorite memory from their wedding day was seeing each other for the first time as Rachel walked down the aisle. “We dated for five years before our wedding day, and all the emotion, anticipation, and excitement came together in that moment,” the couple shared. “Native Weddings captured the moment perfectly!”
Another emotional moment from Rachel and Cody’s wedding was during the traditional father-daughter dance at the reception. Since Rachel’s father had passed away two years earlier, Rachel took turns dancing with her brother, mom, uncles, and father-in-law. “It was a sweet moment for everyone,” Rachel said. “Our whole wedding was full of so many good things! From the getting ready to the send-off, everything was beautiful.”
