A Family Tradition
Starting as friends, Erin Patti and Jared Harding turned sweethearts by their senior year of college. In 2013, they moved to Chicago and immediately began house hunting. On an evening walk in their new neighborhood, Jared proposed in front of their future condo. A surprise engagement party awaited them later that evening.
The couple was wed at Holy Family Church, where Erin’s great uncle was also married decades earlier. Prior to their ceremony, the couple had a private and intimate “first look” moment and photo op in front of the Board of Trade. “It was very emotional and we both shed tears of joy. Besides walking down the aisle, this was one of our favorite and most special times of the day,” said Erin.
Family and guests continued the celebration at Galleria Marchetti. The Marchetti family once owned the Como Inn, where Erin’s late grandparents hosted their wedding reception.
To create a lush and elegant ambiance, the couple uplit the tent at Galleria Marchetti in blush tones and candlelight. They also added café lighting to the adjoining garden so their guests could enjoy both spaces throughout the evening.
The celebration concluded with a dance party created by DJ Dustin Harris from Style Matters, where family and friends packed the dance floor. “The entire time while planning, Jared and I just kept saying that we wanted to throw the best party to celebrate with all of our loved ones and we did exactly that!” said Erin.
