Q. I would really like an opinion from an unbiased person. My fiance and I are planning a beautiful reception, but its getting to be more expensive than we wanted.

We would love to have appetizers and a sweet table, however that brings up the cost about $20 a person with tax and gratuity ($10 for the appetizers and $10 for the sweet table).

With our dinners we will be serving a pasta course, salad, steak, chicken or fish, potato and vegetable and a dessert. Our wedding cake is included in the price of the bar/food package. In addition, our bar is open for 6 hours (during dinner). My question to you is, what is more important, logical, and/or memorable? Should we skip the appetizers or sweet table? Also if we are able, would you suggest, as a last resort, closing the bar for dinner to save money.Thank you.

Q. Please help! My future Mother-In-Law told me that my bridal party cannot bring dates to the rehersal dinner. I think she is being cheap since my family is paying for the whole wedding! What should I do?

Q. Could you please tell me who should pay for the bridesmaids' and groomsmen's hotel rooms for the wedding?

Q. After six long years of dating, I’m finally marrying the man of my dreams. The problem? Neither of us feels comfortable asking our parents for money to help with wedding costs, and we’d rather save for a home than spend a huge chunk of money on our wedding. But I’m an only child, and my parents have waited their whole lives to see me walk down the aisle. Is there any way to have an elegant and memorable celebration that won’t put us into debt?

Q. It’s quickly become apparent that there is no way that my fiancé and I can have the wedding we’ve always dreamed of. His parents have refused to pay for anything more than the rehearsal dinner, and my parents are on a fixed income and have only offered us a modest amount of money. Since this is supposed to be a once-in-a-lifetime celebration, should we go ahead and put all the costs of having our dream wedding on a credit card?
