How we met:
On October of 2005 we were both at a restaurant in Chicago with friends. We met, and have been dating ever since!
The proposal:
Last August Aris surprised me with a trip to Mackinack Island in Michigan. The island is really unique, as there are no cars allowed. You have to take a ferry to the island, and the only transportation is by bike or horse drawn carriage. Aris had been giving me hints all week of where we were going. I was convinced we were headed to Minnesota… until of course we got on the highway headed the opposite way. After a day of walking around the island, Aris took me to a point that overlooks the whole island. I had heard of other brides getting so excited during the proposal that they forgot to actually say yes. So when Aris got down on one knee and I realized what he was doing, I excitedly yelled “yes!” Without of course giving him the chance to actually ask the question. But it was the perfect proposal, and the point was beautiful.
The Big Day Details:
Our wedding date is Saturday August 29th, 2009. We’re walking down the aisle at First Congregational Church of Glen Ellyn. Then it’s off to our reception at Hyatt Lodge in Oak brook on the McDonald’s campus. We were lucky to find Cornerstone Photography that our friends recommended, and were very impressed with their portfolio and level of customer service. We also recently booked Show on the Road, and can’t wait to have them at our reception. After a long, drawn out search I finally found my dress at Wolsfelt’s Victorian Bridal in Aurora. I think I dragged my poor mom to what seems like every bridal shop in Chicago before finally deciding on a dress! The women at Wolsfelt’s have been great, and it was well worth the search.
Honeymoon:
We are not sure what we are doing for our honeymoon. I have a lifelong dream of going to Australia. And if we win the lotto, maybe that will happen We’ve tossed around ideas from Hawaii, to Mexico, to Greece, but are still deciding on where to go.
